He immediately pinpointed the cause of hard water symptoms; the system had been inadvertently put on bypass. Despite this easy solution to my issue, he then took the time to adjust the timer on my softener, take photos for me of the correct way to position the levers, as well as what the levers would need to be set at to go to bypass. He also spent time confirming with me, the type of salt I was using, how the system operated and how long it would take for my soft water to return.
